Renata Maniaci, MPH, HTCP

Energy medicine has been my calling for some time now, though it took awhile before the message was loud enough for me to hear.

I was eventually drawn into energy work from the public health field. I believe that modern medicine has restricted itself to a very narrow view of healing. Our bodies seem so solid, but are really made of energy waves, or vibrations (you catching my vibe?), so, using an energetic method for healing, especially person to person, is quite logical. The healing traditions of several cultures around the world emphasize the importance of subtle energy systems that flow through and around the human body, affecting its health and vitality.

I chose to study Healing Touch as my gateway energy modality because I am a researcher with a strong academic background, and Healing Touch provided studies, explanations, and answers to most of my queries about how energy works. As it happens, the deeper I go into energetic realms, the less I have need for an explanation, or research studies, to validate my work; it is simply, known.

Healing Touch

Healing Touch is an energy-based therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing for the ‘highest’ good of the client. The majority of Healing Touch sessions comprise of the clearing, opening, balancing, and energizing of a client's energy field (aura) and energy centers (chakras). Healing Touch is a standardized and rigorous 5-level energetic education administered by the Healing Touch Program. It is currently the only energy medicine modality to be nationally accredited, and by two certifying bodies – though we hope more will follow soon as energetic techniques become more integrated into modern medical settings.

Description of a Healing Touch Session

During a session I will gently place my hands on or above the client's fully clothed body noting any sensations or imbalances to assess the energy field. I then choose a Healing Touch technique(s) that is appropriate for their needs. This may include light physical touch or sweeping hand motions above the body. A feedback discussion will follow.

People have many different responses to energy work. Some clients feel nothing during the session, but notice various changes in the hours or days following; others describe sensations of moving energy, deep relaxation, or feelings of being supported. Some client's experience an emotional release such as tears or laughter; still others have what they consider to be a spiritual experience, or develop insight into specific areas of their lives. Every experience is unique because everyone’s energy is unique.

Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT)

Spiritual Response Therapy, commonly known as SRT, uses dowsing to bypass the conscious mind and any negative programming to connect with the subconscious and guidance within. As negative programs and blocks are identified, they are cleared and replaced with positive energy and inner peace. Negative energy and limiting beliefs established in the past, and active in the present, can keep an individual from realizing their full potential. SRT has assisted people all around the world to release negativity, break old habits, transform emotional and physical issues, change false beliefs, perceptions and attitudes, and attain greater clarity, balance, joy, and harmony. Description of a SRT Session

Using special charts and a pendulum, we find patterns of negative energy, and remove or "clear" this energy from your soul record, releasing pain and restoring harmony. Following a clearing, and as consciousness begins to change, people can experience different things. On a spiritual level, all manner of things will have happened and very soon you will begin to notice the effects of the clearing work, including increased focus and clarity, finding your voice, more energy, better health, and better relationships. Gua Sha

Gua Sha is traditional medicine for pain, inflammation and immune support. Gua sha is a hands-on medical treatment that has been used throughout Asia for centuries. Gua means  "to rub" or press. Sha is a term that describes the blood congestion in surface tissue in areas where the patient may experience stiffness and pain. When Gua is applied in repeated even strokes, sha appears a small red dots and the pain immediately shifts. Thesha disappears totally in two to three days after treatment. Pain relief lasts even after thesha is completely gone.
