Kelly Bowers, LMT
I understand my role as a massage therapist as an assistant (or even a sidekick) in your life’s journey. Your body, believe it or not, knows what it’s doing. You may not always agree with its decisions but it’s a whole lot smarter than me (or even you). My job – our job, really – is to figure out what your body needs to do the best it can with the resources it’s got and, if possible, to give it some help along the way.
While I may be your (loyal!) assistant / sidekick, I never forget that at the end of the day you go home with your body. I don’t. So you get to set the rules for your session, your body, and your life because you are the only one living it. I will never give you a hard time about how much water you drink, how much stretching you do, how strong your core muscles are, what you weigh, or your exercise habits. I presume
you’ve heard all about these things and, like your body, are doing the best you can with the resources you’ve got.
I’ve been practicing massage therapy since 2000. The longer I work, the lighter my pressure and the more “whole body” my approach has become. I have a special focus in my practice on lymph drainage, surgical support (before and after), and scar release. That doesn’t mean I won’t help you un-kink your shoulders or calm your hamstrings. It just means sometimes I’ll use a lot of pressure but sometimes you’ll be surprised at how effective I can be meeting those goals with what seems like hardly any pressure at all. It’s amazing!
I’m the “old lady” (or Freed-ly Godmother as one co-worker has dubbed me) at Freed Bodyworks. That just means I had to wait longer for such a special place as Freed Bodyworks to come into existence so I could join them. Anyplace that truly embraces and lives out the idea of radical inclusion is a place that has a chance to change the whole world – one aching shoulder at a time – for the better.

Why Do People Choose to Work with Kelly?
She listens well to you and to your body. She always takes the time to find out what you need today.
Every massage is specific to you. You don’t need to know in advance what type of massage or massage modality will best suit you. That is her job. You tell her what you want out of your session and she will combine all of her training and expertise to serve your goals.
She respects the challenges of living with chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, MS, arthritis, etc. She respects being invited in the journey of your life as you are experiencing it.
She has no illusions about having the body of a 20-year- old at 30, 40, 50, 60, or 70. She respects the changes that come with every decade and will do her very best to help you manage the process as well as you can.
She thinks your body – yes, yours – is a brilliant piece of work and worthy of her respect.
She thinks feet are a marvel of engineering and loves to work on them.
